Lab Tests and Diagnostic Imaging

Unfortunately, there is no laboratory available for blood work in the building. 

You can go to any lab in the city like LifeLabs or Dynacare, the results arrive to us electronically independent of the lab you choose, so find one that’s most convenient for you.

We recommend you go to a lab location that is convenient to you. The closest one to us is Gamma  Dynacare located at 99 Kakulu Road (at the intersection with Castlefrank Road).

Typically, we fax the lab order forms/requisition to the central fax number of Laboratories which will be available for use the next business day. Preferably you wait 2 days before you head to the lab.

No appointment is needed for routine lab services. For certain specialty tests like Holter monitor and  Semen analysis for infertility appointments are required, please contact your lab for instructions.  

Note that you don’t generally have to fast for bloodwork these days unless we tell you otherwise.

Unfortunately, there is no diagnostic imaging available in the building. However, much like with labs, you can go to the one most convenient for you.

Note: If we give you a requisition specific to a particular facility, you can still bring it to one of your choices. Please note most diagnostic imaging clinics accept X-rays as a walk-in service, while ultrasound and other specialty testing need pre-booking.

• You will not be contacted if lab results or tests are negative. If the doctor asks you to follow up, it is expected that you will do so. Please do not call looking for lab results. If you want to know the results yourself, then please sign up with the lab that you use. Dynacare and LifeLabs are the preferred labs and for a nominal annual fee, you can have access to your results. Similarly, Canadian Diagnostic Network, Merivale imaging, Hospital visit notes and Hospital imaging results are accessible via hospital MyChart systems and other similar report systems from most testing providers.
